A WORD FROM Pastor Alan - Nov. 2011

Today is the Day of Prayer For The Persecuted Church.  There are 200 million Christians in the world today who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ, and Christians around the world today are praying for them.  Generally, most people think of persecution as being tortured for your faith, being imprisoned or being martyred.  Those are the extreme examples.  The Bible teaches that all Christians will be persecuted in some way.  The word persecution comes from the Greek word “to pursue.”  It is the image of a hunter hunting prey and Satan is the hunter.  He uses pressures, troubles, difficulties, tests, setbacks, etc. to try to knock us out of commission.  If we are sailing trouble free through life, it most likely means we are being regarded by the devil as minimal threat and unproductive.

How do you handle persecution and troubles?  The way we handle these things says a lot about our character and our faith.  It also reveals who we are and Whose we are.  Christians are blood bought, blood washed children of the King of kings.  Today, the Persecuted Church has a great deal to teach every Christian about witnessing for Christ, spiritual warfare and strength of character.  We need to stand in solidarity with these brothers and sisters in the Lord.  I urge you to pray for them daily.  To learn more about the Persecuted Church, you can visit these two excellent web sites, {Open Doors Ministry} and {Voice of the Martyrs}.  To learn four important lessons from the Persecuted Church, please go to the sermon on this site.

Our Vision Statement:

To glorify God by presenting a changeless Christ in a relevant, creative, credible and caring way to people of all ages and walks of life in an environment where individuals can meet the Saviour, worship Him as Lord and grow to their fill potential in Christ through the Holy
Spirit.

Our priorities are threefold:

I - WORSHIP
More than any other reason, we are here to glorify and worship God. In all our services, we have come to meet with Him, hear His voice and obey Him.

II - EVANGELISM
We also bring glory to His name "but presenting a changeless Christ in a relevant, creative, credible and caring way to people of all ages and walks of life." We are in Mt. Uniacke on assignment. The assignment is to build God's kingdom by winning souls to Christ.

III - DISCIPLESHIP
We are also here to nurture one another in the growth process of discipleship. We do this by providing "an environment where individuals can meet the Saviour, worship Him as lord, and grow to their full potential in Christ through the Holy Spirit." As we pursue these priorities of God, let us remember the Lord is with us to favour us and bless us with his presence. "Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Ps. 23:6
