A WORD FROM
Pastor
Alan - Feb/13
“I
had assumed.” We’ve all said those words at one time or another.
Bad move, eh? Usually, when we assume, we find out:
A. We were mistaken.
B. Partly right,
partly wrong.
C. We missed out on
something good.
D. We perhaps had to
apologize to some one.
E. We felt like we had
egg on our face.
F. We realized how ill
thought out our conclusion was.
Our assumptions became a self made prison that lock us in.
It would simply be a whole lot easier not to assume anything
wouldn’t it? It’s human to assume. Even great prophets of the
Bible have settled for assumptions, e.g. Balaam, Samuel. It is
probably easier to assume than to take time to research, investigate
and search out truth. Assuming is quick and easy. Truth seeking is
time consuming.
